Default Battery Charger VEC1093D teardown - Fan replacement

So, finally, the bearings gave out, I broke down and opened it up. Someone else on the internet had a review, and said just 4 screws to get to the fan. Must have been a different model, I had to go through 11 of them. Detailed here:

And it's a nice charger, 4-10-20-40 amps ! (12V, several different battery chemistrys)

The link you posted just comes up blank when I click it. Can you please post the details of the teardown here directly instead? Or at least a link to one of those sites like eHow or Instructables?

Many thanks, this is the best charger I have ever owned, I don't know what I'd do without it when this dying fan finally gives out. The battery desulfate and rebalancer alone has saved me like three times it's own cost in batteries. Plus it seems a waste to throw it out just for a cheap fan. "For want of a nail...", right?

Just wish it also did 6v and 24v as well. Any one know of anything like that?

Why can't anyone make a *truly* universal charger? Like lead acid, NiCd, NiMH, Li-ion, etc all in one with an upgradeable firmware to support new chemistries and charging techniques?? These digital gadets nowadays are all pretty much just a bunch of power MOSFETS hooked up to a microprocessor and a huge honkin capacitor, all the action is in software now...

Anyway, thanks a million if you can repost that, batteries around the world will thank you, too! :) (not to mention landfills!)

I just clicked on it, and it works. Even through the firewall here at work, and I am not logged into FB.
